French Day

Wow What a cool time we had creating craft around a French theme. Our team of six teachers all took a different theme related to France (our adopted country for the Rugby World Cup). Here are some of the items children could choose to make.

We made snails, both 3-D and paper plate versions, see the cool examples below.

These both looked really cool and it was great to see the children helping each other to complete their snails.

Frogs were another theme and these frog headbands with long tongues were a real hit with the children.

The rooster, the Eiffel Tower, and sunflowers completed the range of activities. Children were also able to build their own Eiffel Tower but I was unable to photograph these before the call to pack up.

This was a great way to finish a week where we had tried some French food, baguettes, pate and cheese, both Brie and Camembert, ate snails (really pinwheels with cinnamon and sugar), and found out lots of information about snails. Now it’s up to the All Blacks to do their best when we play France on Saturday night.
